Running a business often means spending a lot of time focused on the day-to-day tasks, keeping everything organised and making sure things run smoothly. But sometimes, it's just as important to step away from the desk, get out into the business community and make new connections.

That's exactly what I did when I attended Let's Do Business 2026, organised by Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce at Uttoxeter Racecourse.

It was a great opportunity to meet other local business owners, catch up with familiar faces and spend time connecting with people who share a passion for what they do.

The Value of Getting Out and Networking

As business owners, it's easy to become caught up in our own routines. There's always something that needs doing, another email to respond to or another task to tick off the list.

Taking time out to attend a networking event can sometimes feel like a luxury, but building relationships is an important part of running and growing a business.

One of the things I enjoy most about networking is hearing about other people's businesses, understanding what they do and learning about the challenges they face.

Every business has its own story, and there's always something valuable to take away from a good conversation.

It's Not Just About Making New Connections

One of the highlights of the event was having the opportunity to catch up with an existing client and a business associate.

While networking events are fantastic for meeting new people, they're also a great opportunity to reconnect with those you already know and work alongside.

For me, business has always been about more than simply providing a service. It's about building genuine relationships, understanding people's needs and being someone they can rely on.

Taking the time to maintain those connections is just as important as making new ones.

Sometimes, a quick catch-up and a friendly conversation can be just as valuable as a formal meeting.

Supporting Our Local Business Community

Another thing that stood out to me was the variety of businesses coming together at the event.

It's a great reminder of just how much knowledge, experience and enthusiasm there is within the Staffordshire business community.

As a business owner myself, I understand that running a business comes with plenty of challenges. From managing everyday responsibilities to finding the time to focus on growth, there's always something competing for your attention.

That's why I believe supporting one another and building strong business relationships is so important.

Whether it's sharing advice, recommending a service or simply offering a listening ear, those connections can make a real difference.

Making Time for What Matters

At Holistic Business Services, a big part of what I do is helping businesses manage the tasks and responsibilities that take up valuable time.

From administration and business support to HR assistance and event coordination, my aim is to help business owners feel more organised and supported, giving them more time to focus on the areas of their business that need their attention.

And sometimes, that includes making time to get out, meet people and build relationships.

Attending events like Let's Do Business is a reminder that, while the day-to-day running of a business is important, so is taking time to connect with the people around you.

A Day Well Spent

It was lovely to spend the day meeting new people, reconnecting with familiar faces and catching up with both a client and a business associate.

A big thank you to Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce for organising the event and bringing the local business community together.

If you're a business owner looking for a little extra support behind the scenes, I'd love to hear from you.
