Two Years In Business: Growth, Gratitude and Looking Ahead

This month marks two years since I launched Holistic Business Services.
If I'm honest, when I started, I didn't have a grand business plan or aspirations to build a large agency. What I did have was a desire to use the skills and experience I'd gained over many years to help businesses that needed support, organisation and someone they could trust to help lighten the load.
Two years later, I'm incredibly proud of what has been built.
I've had the privilege of supporting a wide range of businesses, charities and individuals, helping behind the scenes with everything from diary management and administration to HR support, events, projects and systems. Along the way I've met some wonderful people and worked with clients who have become much more than names in an inbox.
As any business owner will know, growth often brings new opportunities, but it also brings new challenges.
One of the biggest lessons I've learnt over the past two years is that growth isn't always about doing more. Sometimes it's about doing things differently.
Recently, I've taken on some associate support for a few hours each week. If you'd asked me two years ago whether I'd ever have someone helping within the business, I probably would have said no. Holistic Business Services has always been very personal to me, and I've always taken great pride in being the person my clients know and trust.
However, I've come to realise that bringing in the right support isn't about stepping away from clients. It's about ensuring I can continue showing up for them at my best.
By having some additional support in place, it allows me to create a little more breathing space. It means I can continue delivering the high level of service my clients expect while also making time to work on the business itself – improving systems, developing services and thinking carefully about where I want the business to head in the future.
For me, success has never been about building something big and flashy.
It's about creating a business that reflects my values. A business built on trust, reliability, kindness and genuine relationships. A business that supports clients well while also allowing me to maintain balance and avoid burnout.
The additional support I'm introducing is simply a natural next step in helping me achieve that.
As I look ahead to year three, my focus remains very much the same. I want to continue supporting fantastic clients, building strong relationships, helping businesses thrive and being someone people can rely on when they need an extra pair of hands.
To every client, colleague, contact and supporter who has been part of this journey so far, thank you.
Your trust, recommendations, encouragement and support have helped make these first two years possible, and I'm excited to see what the next chapter brings.
